Who is Dietitian?
Dietitian is a health professional who masters and applies medical nutrition therapy to: Assists those who require eating habits modification. Facilitates patient's recovery process.
Processes involved:
Perform nutritional assessment and nutrition screenings (e.g. body fat screening, BMI measurement) for their clients.
Development of nutritional care plans, nutritional support and/or education/counselling (offer advice on diet-related concerns such as weight loss, cholesterol reduction etc).
Monitoring and evaluation of care plans for inpatients and outpatients.
For our Inpatient, therapeutic diets are provided as adjuvant therapy to patient's medical condition, e.g. diabetes diet for better blood sugar control, low fat diet for better blood cholesterol control.
